dc.description Nutrient contents of daily diet of 28 wild capuchin monkeys (Sapajus libidinosus) belonging to two social groups (Chic and Zang) . Data were collected in Fazenda Boa Vista, Gilbués, Piauí, Brazil (9°39’S, 45°25’W), for 129 focal days from from September 2012 to March 2014. Three researchers collected data. following single focal monkey continuously for one full day per month, noting their behavior and diet. Nutrient analyses were made on 76 samples from 39 species of plants, 6 invertebrate species, and 1 vertebrate; ca. 70% of all foods included in their diet. The food samples were analyzed for the percent of ash, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), crude protein (using N x 6.25), and lipids following AOAC procedures. Nutrient intake per individual per day was estimated by multiplying the total units of each food item ingested by their correspondent nutritional concentration. In the excel file each line corresponds to one focal day and each column shows: A – Season of data collection (dry or rainy season) B - Social groups of the focal individual C – Name of the focal individual D – Category of: not-able (individual that was not capable of nutcracking with stone tools); able-notooling (individual that was capable of nutcracking with stone tools but did not use in that day); tooling ((individual that was capable of nutcracking with stone tools and did tool in that day) E, F – MBM: metabolic body mass, log of metabolic body mass G, H – Sumseg – total sampling time during daily focal in seconds, log of total sampling time I - Ener_kcal_gross_raw: total amount of kilocalories ingested by the individual J - NPE_kcal_gross_raw: amount of kilocaries from lipids and/or carbohidrates ingested by the individual K - Protein_kcal_gross_raw: amount of kilocaries from proteins ingested by the individual L – Proportion of protein in total macronutrients ingested by the individual M - Day_range_raw: distance in kilometers travelled by the individual N – Proportion of time of focal day spent in travelling O - Proportion of time of focal day spent in foraging P - Proportion of time of focal day spent in resting Q - Proportion of time of focal day spent in eating R - Proportion of time of focal day spent in social interactions S - Total_expenditure_kcal_nutcrackingswimming_raw: total kilocalories spent in the different daily activities using human values for swimming for the calculus of energy expenditure in tooling T - Total_expenditure_kcal_nutcrackingswimming_raw: total kilocalories spent in the different daily activities using primate values for foraging for the calculus of energy expenditure in tooling U - Ener_scoco_gross_raw: total amount of kilocalories ingested by the individual when removing the amount of energy from coconuts V - Drymatter_grams_raw: total amount of dry matter (in grams) in the diet of the individual W NDF_to_NPE: ratio between non digestible fiber and amount of carbohidrates and/or lipids in the diet of the individual Nutrient contents of daily diet of 28 wild capuchin monkeys (Sapajus libidinosus) belonging to two social groups (Chic and Zang) .
